Why Private Tutoring: All children benefit from one-on-one tutoring. Some children need targeted skill practice, while others need academic enrichment. Whichever path you choose, private tutoring will equip your child for success in school.
What I Do: I am a trained reading and writing specialist, and former classroom teacher. I have over fourteen years of experience working in preschool, elementary and middle school classrooms. This experience sets me apart from other tutors. I use a multi-sensory approach to help your child reach their academic goals. I work with your child to identify gaps and reinforce skills. I create a tailor-made curriculum around their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, I provide parents with both long term and short term goals for their child. As a former teacher, I understand that learning in a classroom comes with its own unique challenges. I work with your child's teachers to create goals and lessons. I ask each teacher to fill out a learning profile on your child, allowing me to maximize my tutoring. Most importantly, I will build a love of learning and curiosity for your child.

I set up play sessions to get to know your child, their interests and hidden talents. A Comprehensive Approach
Early language, literacy and math skills are learned best through every day moments with your child. These skills are developed at a rapid rate within the first three years of a child’s life. They are shaped by the nature of everyday life, parent interactions and activities. All parents want to enforce these skills on a daily basis, but they are often unsure on how to teach their young children how to read, write and count. Parents can choose between 1-5 sessions, in which, I will teach them how to incorporate literacy and math into their home environments.
I will create learning experiences in the home environment that are critical for young children’s development. By providing materials, parent education and recreating physical spaces in the home, I will help children learn to investigate the world through their home environment. Providing these positive early learning experiences within the home will lead to substantial social and educational benefits that can have lasting and life changing impacts. The home learning activities I provide are research based and educationally and developmentally stimulating.
