Private Tutoring

Why Private Tutoring: All children benefit from one-on-one tutoring. Some children need targeted skill practice, while others need academic enrichment. Whichever path you choose, private tutoring will equip your child for success in school.

What I Do: I am a trained reading and writing specialist, and former classroom teacher. I have over fourteen years of experience working in preschool, elementary and middle school classrooms. This experience sets me apart from other tutors. I use a multi-sensory approach to help your child reach their academic goals. I work with your child to identify gaps and reinforce skills. I create a tailor-made curriculum around their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, I provide parents with both long term and short term goals for their child. As a former teacher, I understand that learning in a classroom comes with its own unique challenges. I work with your child's teachers to create goals and lessons. I ask each teacher to fill out a learning profile on your child, allowing me to maximize my tutoring. Most importantly, I will build a love of learning and curiosity for your child.

Early language, literacy and math skills are learned best through every day moments with your child. These skills are developed at a rapid rate within the first three years of a child’s life. They are shaped by the nature of everyday life, parent interactions and activities. All parents want to enforce these skills on a daily basis, but they are often unsure on how to teach their young children how to read, write and count.
